His wife Mariia wrote:
‘Serhii was the best! A loving husband, a caring father, son, brother, and loyal friend. He was sincere, always with an open heart and kind soul. He was ready to help anyone in need. He loved life and always stood up for justice. With deep sorrow, yet pride, I recall his words: ‘Who, if not me, should stand to defend our land!?’ He was only 37 – he still had so much to live for, so many dreams to fulfill… The enemy took his life. We love and remember our dearest one forever!’
Serhii was posthumously awarded the Order ‘For Courage’, 3rd Class. He was buried on the Alley of Glory at Chukaliv Cemetery. A memorial plaque was laid at his old school, Ivano-Frankivsk Lyceum No. 17.
Serhii is survived by his mother Liubov, sister Tetiana, wife Mariia, son Oskar, and daughter Kamila.
