Sai Tway, known as Shine to his friends, was a member of the Free Burma Rangers, a humanitarian relief and human rights documentation organisation. He was also a member of the Shan State Revolutionary Youth – a group associated with the wider ‘People’s Defence Forces’ fighting the Myanmar military government.
The eldest of three brothers, Sai Tway is remembered for his infectious smile, sense of humour, and courage. Friends said he never let people take themselves too seriously, and was also known for his skills as a photographer. In addition to humanitarian relief work, Sai Tway was involved in activities to support children affected by the conflict in the Shan region of Myanmar. A colleague remembered how Sai Tway would find children huddled in a hiding place and start singing and dancing for them, to ease their fears.
Sai Tway had survived multiple battles, frequently putting himself in danger to help evacuate civilians and wounded fighters from the risk of airstrikes, mortar bombing and machine gun fire. He was killed by an airstrike on 13 April in Pekhon, southern Shan state, as he was trying to help local people get to safety.

ညီအစ်ကို သုံးယောက်တွင် အကြီးဆုံးဖြစ်သည့် စိုင်းထွေးသည် သူ၏ ပျော်ရွင်မှု ကူးစေတတ်သောအပြုံး၊ ဟာသဥာဏ်နှင့် ရဲစွမ်းသတ္တိတို့ကြောင့် အမှတ်ရနေသည်။ သူ၏ သူငယ်ချင်းများက စိုင်းသွေးသည် လူများကို သူတို့ကိုယ်သူတို့ တင်းတင်းကြပ်ကြပ် ထိန်းချုပ်ခွင့် မပြုသူနှင့် ဓာတ်ပုံရိုက်ရာ၌လည်း ကျွမ်းကျင်သူဖြစ်ကြောင်း ပြောကြသည်။ လူသားချင်းစာနာထောက်ထားမှုဆိုင်ရာ ကယ်ဆယ်ရေးလုပ်ငန်းများအပြင် ရှမ်းဒေသရှိ ပဋိပက္ခဒဏ်ခံရသော ကလေးသူငယ်များအား ထောက်ပံ့ကူညီရေး လုပ်ငန်းများတွင်လည်း ပါဝင်ဆောင်ရွက်ခဲ့ပါသည်။ စိုင်းထွေးသည် ပုန်းအောင်းနေသောကလေးများ၏ ကြောက်ရွံ့မှု လျော့ပါးစေရန် သီဆိုကခုန်ပြခဲ့သည့် မြင်ကွင်းကို အမှတ်ရကြောင်း လုပ်ဖော်ကိုင်ဖက်တစ်ဦးက ပြောခဲ့သည်။
စိုင်းထွေးသည် တိုက်ပွဲအများအပြားတွင် လေကြောင်းတိုက်ခိုက်မှုများ၊ လက်နက်ကြီးဗုံးကြဲခြင်းနှင့် စက်သေနတ်ပစ်ခတ်မှုအန္တရာယ်မှ အရပ်သားများနှင့် ထိခိုက်ဒဏ်ရာရရှိသူများကို ကယ်ဆယ်ရန် မကြာခဏ အသက်ရင်းခဲ့သော်လည်း လွတ်မြောက်ခဲ့သည်။ ဧပြီလ ၁၃ ရက်နေ့၊ ရှမ်းပြည်တောင်ပိုင်း၊ ဖယ်ခုံမြို့တွင် လေကြောင်းတိုက်ခိုက်မှုကြောင့် ဒေသခံပြည်သူများ ဘေးလွတ်ရာရောက်အောင် ကူညီပေးခဲ့ချိန်၌ အသက်ပေးခဲ့ပါသည်။
