Dawit Mekasha was a seven-year-old schoolchild. He lived with his family in Sefiberet Kebele in the district of Kewot, Amhara region.
On 24 October, Dawit was killed by a drone strike which hit his home, conducted by Ethiopian National Defence Forces. Four other people were also killed in the attack.
From 25 September to 24 October, more than 43 drone and airstrikes were recorded across the Amhara region, resulting in 196 deaths. The majority of those killed were civilians.
