Ahmad Yahya al-Omar was a journalist and media activist, working with media crews in the Jisr al-Shughour area of Idlib governorate.
On 1 December, al-Assad regime forces conducted an aerial attack on the city of Aleppo. Just after 2pm, missile strikes targeted the main entrance of Aleppo University Hospital, which was crowded with civilians. Twelve people were killed, including three media staff and two healthcare workers. The hospital building was severely damaged.
Ahmad Yahya al-Omar was one of those killed. He was 29 years old.
