Jean Woody Vilmont was a police officer within the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police, in the Financial and Economic Affairs Office. He was shot dead by armed gang members at around 10.30pm on the evening of 5 January, in the district of Delmas (a suburb of the capital, Port-au-Prince).

Jean was the first police officer to be murdered in Haiti in 2024, and the second person to be murdered in Delmas that day. At least 24 police officers were murdered or killed in the line of duty in Haiti during 2024.

Jean Woody Vilmont était policier au sein de la Direction Centrale de la Police Judiciaire, au Bureau des Affaires Financières et Economiques. Il a été abattu par des membres d'un gang armé vers 22h30 le soir du 5 janvier, dans le quartier de Delmas (une banlieue de la capitale, Port-au-Prince).

Jean a été le premier policier assassiné en Haïti en 2024 et la deuxième personne assassinée à Delmas ce jour-là. Au moins 24 policiers ont été assassinés ou tués dans l'exercice de leurs fonctions en Haïti en 2024.
