Arifa Haydar Jammo, aged 70, was a Kurdish woman living in the village of Kabashin, in the governorate of Aleppo.
On 9 March, Arifa was travelling on a bus out of the village when al-Assad regime forces stationed in Jabal al-Sheikh Aqeel began firing artillery shells towards Kabashin. One of the shells hit the bus Arifa was travelling in, killing Arifa and wounding six civilians. Three of the wounded were children.
